Careful hand clearance and follow-up management for invasive growth on sensitive woodland and estate sites.
Past work ranged from individual awkward trees to coordinated estate and plantation projects.
These services are not currently open for new enquiries.
Headline services
Motor manual hand felling of hardwood and softwood, sized to the site and the ground conditions.
Selective thinning to open a crop up, improve form and get light onto the woodland floor.
Low impact extraction, including tractor and winch work where a forwarder would do damage.
Traditional laying and new hedgerow planting, with guards, stakes and aftercare.
UK-grown stock with spirals, tubes and stakes, planted to survive rather than to hit a number.
Scrub, gorse, heather and rhododendron, cleared by hand where machinery would be too heavy.
On-site chipping of brash and arisings, either removed or left as mulch and path surfacing.
Thirty years means an unusually wide range for a small outfit. The full list is below.
Full capability
Grouped so you can find your job rather than read a list of nineteen bullet points.
Manual rhododendron clearance is slow, awkward, unpopular work — and it’s what we’re known for. No heavy machinery churning through sensitive ground, no chemical shortcuts where they aren’t wanted.
We follow it through properly: once the rhododendron is out we carry on into game bird habitat enhancement, so the ground earns its keep afterwards.
Talk it through with the family who cut and deliver your wood. We’ll help you work out what you need.
